... and thank you for visiting my website!
WHAT THIS SITE IS FOR
Through this website I will provide a window into my past, present and my future. Not because I think my life is incredibly interesting or special. I have created this website first an foremost for the purpose of self-reflection. But since I have never been good at keeping things close to my chest, I am sharing some of my reflections with you: a little bit creative, somewhat varied and - ideally - worth your while.
I am posting new blog entries every week. These will include insights on my life journey, my career, being a diplomatic spouse (currently based in Shanghai), travelogues and other things I deem worth sharing. I will try to enhance my blog with ideas from books and other literary sources I find helpful and inspiring - professionally as well as privately.
Since I have recently been learning a lot of new things about psychology, habits, life and work principles, productivity, time and self-management and other interesting topics, I will try to incorporate some of my learnings to pass them along.
Ideally you will find this website engaging and take some insights with you and into your professional or private life. Please also have a look through the rest of my portfolio as the website will grow constantly each week and get in touch with me if you want to learn more about me or the content I am sharing...
I first launched marcuslycke.com in 2010. Back then as a student in industrial engineering I didn't really know what to write about. So it took me almost 10 years to write this text.
Part of the reason for both, not maintaining my website for so long and starting again now, is the fact that I have been working as a business consultant for the past decade. Nowadays, I'd consider myself an experienced project manager with a proven track record in management consulting, especially in the automotive and aviation industry. I love coaching as much as a I love learning and my field of expertise reaches from Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and CIP to Corporate Governance and HR.
However, right now I am a homemaker (or "betty" as the Brits call it), a part-time musician, blogger and author, an enthusiastic runner and a full-time diplomatic spouse to my amazing wife.
I hope you will find some inspiration from my posts and the content of this website and I'd be more than happy to get in touch with you, whatever your story might be!
